Art is so important to the state of New Hampshire that in 1979, the state legislature enacted the Percent for Art Program, which mandates that ½ to 1 percent of the contract price of state construction projects be appropriated for the inclusion of art and/or craft work in the architecture of the building.

The job market is growing, especially for fashion designers, who can expect an increase of 44.1% in opportunities through 2012.
